The Porta Mirror ("Porta" is the Portuguese word for "black") features a gorgeous Royal Portuguese Baroque Bit in oiled black steel, with matching side hardware pulled from a vintage harness. Black stitched harness leather has been hand-tacked around a high quality beveled mirror.
This special bit is used with traditional Portuguese Lusitano horses. Noted for their intelligence and willing nature, these powerful horses were originally used for classical dressage and driving.
French cleat hanging hardware installed on the back secures this mirror to your wall. Hanging iron wall hook is included to prop up the bit. Only one available. This is a substantive piece that any equestrian or lover of country/rustic style will appreciate!

• Because of the heavier glass weight, easy-to-install French cleat hanging hardware is included. I've installed one hanging bar to the mirror back for you. The other hanging bar screws securely into your wall/wall studs. Simple instructions and hanging level included.
• Iron hanging wall hook is included. NOTE, the hook is purely for aesthetics, to prop up the bit at the top. DO NOT HANG MIRROR SOLELY FROM THE HOOK, AS IT CANNOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT BY ITSELF. Your mirror needs to be secured to your wall with the French cleat hardware included on the mirror back.

Each piece of tack I use is uniquely found, and is often well-aged and well-used. I clean, condition and touch up the leather as much as possible, but please keep in mind that it does contain some natural wear and tear, an occasional scratch or even a faint 'horsey' smell, which adds to the overall character of each mirror.
